GRYD Prevention

Funded by the Mayor’s Office of LA, Gang Reduction and Youth Development, or GRYD, offers both Intervention and Prevention. As the prevention program, our mission is to improve the overall health and well-being of families and communities by lowering risk factors and enhancing protective factors.

About GRYD Prevention

Through social-emotional education and programming, we promote positive youth development and family support. We focus on family dynamics, individual empowerment, and social-emotional education to ensure that youth and their families leave our program with tangible skills for the future. GRYD Prevention aims to decrease negative behaviors such as anti-social tendencies, impulsive risk-taking, peer pressure, delinquency, and substance use and keep youth engaged with a healthy community.

Must be 10-15 years old
Must live in, attend school, or spend time in the West San Fernando Valley
Commit to 6 months of programming
