Congratulations to the graduates of our first parenting courses. 2 months ago ACE opened its new parenting courses; Young Parents and Fatherhood.
ACE is proud to announce the launch of our SECTOR program. The purpose of the SECTOR Program, which stands for Skills and Experiences for the Careers of Tomorrow, is to offer career pathways and family-sustaining wages for people impacted by the justice system.
Today we’re blessed to receive a furniture donation from GDF studios for our new Hope Center! The hope center will serve a critical function for ACE, being a center built to make participants feel more at home and relaxed.
In December, ACE held a toy drive in partnership with LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, the LA Sheriff’s Department, and Honda. ACE helped distribute over 500 toys to young families in the West Valley.
Canoga Park, Winnetka, and Reseda, communities already lacking in resources, were severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. We saw that many families, including our own students, were struggling with food insecurity due to the economic impact of the pandemic.
Today we are sad to bid farewell to a beloved member of the ACE team. Robert Shear has been an AmeriCrops VISTA at ACE for a year and 8 months.
Our students worked so hard to reach this milestone. Surrounded by friends and family, in a socially distanced environment, our students were celebrated at a graduation ceremony they never dreamed of.
We are very excited to announce that the Department of Labor has awarded ACE a grant for 1.5. million. This is one of the largest grants we have ever received and will go towards establishing our Career Academy.
